About Gavin Hodgson.
I have received my Honors Degree from Mount Allison University, with accredited Masters courses in Behavioral Science from the University of Calgary. I have completed the core training for Road 2 Mental Readiness (R2MR) to assists those suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
With a desire to further my education and to remain current I attend ongoing conferences and “Leading Edge” workshops. I have completed several accredited courses in Anger Management, Partner Assault Response (PAR) Program and Critical Incident Training. I have also graduated from Ontario Police College and South West Fire Academy.
As a parent some of the best life lessons come from our children and their interactions, I will bring this attention to detail and devotion to each client I see. Finally, I am forever learning from my beautiful family, whom push me to be the best version of myself that I can achieve.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
As a cognitive behavioural therapist (CBT), I will be focusing on the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems and changing unhelpful patterns in cognition (e.g., thoughts, beliefs, attitudes, behaviours, and emotional regulation). By taking a specific look at, learned behaviours and how the individual’s personal environment influences those behaviours, we will work at developing personal boundaries, communication strategies, social skills, stress management, anger treatment and improving personal judgment. I also utilize psychotherapy and develop stress strategies in order to assist my clients in achieving their goals.
I will also work in combination with medical and psychiatric professionals in treating other conditions, such as:
Severe Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Aggression and Abuse
Throughout my professional growth, I have worked with individuals of all ages, developing coping strategies to begin living a mentally happier and healthier life.
